Thirteen years ago I had three roommates and every morning at 5am we would wake up and bring our vision boards into the living room. There we would pray and speak those things we desired to accomplish. We would inspire and encourage one another. I will never forget those times. My friend Sherri was believing for a house and she bought one. My friend Mary was believing for a car and she got it. Another friend was believing for healing and she received it. I was believing for the financial means to join a program at ORU and I got it.
The interesting thing about the entire process was that there were other things we were believing for as well. At the time, I was working at Delta Airlines. I loved the flying privileges because it afforded me the opportunity to fly to Oklahoma for class every week. Now, if any of you know anything about standby, then you know sleeping in the airport is no fun when you are bumped from a flight. I remember thinking how nice it would be to have a private plane where I could fly on my own schedule. I decided to add it to my vision board. So I searched online for a private airline company. Of course, I didn't have the money for it at the time, but I decided to put my faith out there anyhow. So I found a company and submitted my information for them to send me some information. I figured I would add it to my vision board to add to my faith. Well, when the information came in the mail it was a huge binder of a contract, complete with stickers for where I should sign and pictures of the different planes I could choose from. I was in awe. WOW! Really! So I chose the plane I liked, it was a Cessna Citation and placed the picture on my vision board. I filed the contract away because, of course, I wasn't financially ready for such a venture. I and my sisters continued to get up every morning and speak and declare and pray for one another's vision.
Years went by and at some point I put that vision board up. I never forgot about what was on it because everything I added to it, in my heart, I believed I could have at some point in my life. Me not seeing it every day just didn't keep it as important. So for years, life went on and I became involved with other things. Every now and then I would receive emails from the private airline asking me if I was still interested in their service and invite me to exclusive functions. I would smile and put it to the side. It was almost as if God was reminding me of those words I put into the universe. Reminding me that I was called to a purpose greater than what I was operating in at that time. When I inquired about that plane, I had huge desires to impact the world in some way or another and through the years, I had allowed my purpose to become lukewarm.
A year ago, I was working for a client who requested that I accompany he and his family on vacation. He had his secretary contact me with all of the travel details. We flew private and I was so excited for the opportunity to do so. It reminded me of that vision board my roommates and I would pray over at 5am several years ago. The kicker happened after I returned from the trip. I was unpacking and looking over my original travel details. The plane we flew on was a Cessna Citation. How's that for putting a fire under you. I pulled out that old vision board that day and was able to add some things and remove some. The fire was lit once again and as a result, I am sitting here sending you this email. There are times when we place our passions and desires on pause and that's okay. Today I want this email to be the spark that lights it up again. God and the great universe He created has not forgotten the words you've spoken from your heart.
If you are ready to reignite your passions, I encourage you to schedule a complimentary session with me. Sometimes we need to have that conversation with someone who's been right where we are to help us get moving again.
