How Bringing Back The Balance Brought My First 100K With It
March 14, 2016
One thing I've learned for sure is we can work until our fingers fall off, make all the money we can, and if there is no balance, you are one unhappy person. I know I'm not alone. I've had conversations with many women whom can testify to this very truth. I should know, at one point in my life I was working over 100 hours a week. I could not tell you exactly how much I made or exactly what I did with it. What I can tell you is that I was tired, frustrated and irritated.
Why do we feel like consuming our lives with work is going to fix every problem in our lives or provide the happiness that's missing from them?
Are we so afraid to confront the truth our lives is showing us, that we run to the shortcut of money for a moment of contentment? Well, what I have learned is that the success you so desire is in the face of the thing you try to run from. That very moment, I began to get intimate with myself, my relationships, my time, my money, everything that I am the common denominator for, the success came. I have learned that the money, the title, and the things aren't success at all, they are the results of the success. People will not pay you their money for your services unless they have developed some type of relationship or connection with what you are selling. Your business is a reflection of you and it's easier to do good business, when you yourself are doing good.
The day I began to make my family and friends and my interaction with them a priority was when I began to learn more about myself and what I truly wanted to do for a career, not a job. At this point, work no longer felt like work. I was doing what I loved doing.
The day I became really intimate with how I spent my time was when I stopped saying yes, trying to please everyone, and learned to say no to please myself. It helped me to see how much money I was really averaging an hour. Don't be so focused on the size of the check. Break it down with the hours you put into it. Ask yourself....Is my time worth more than this? How can I make the most of my time while having a greater impact?
The day I made my health and over all well being a priority, I stopped being so tired and irritabile. People wanted to be around me more and share themselves with me. It gave us the opportunity to share with one another. This opened a whole new door for growth for myself and lessons I had missed previously. I found that I had kept myself so busy, that often times I missed the wisdom in the process.
The day I made my consciousness a priority, I learned that there is always a better way. There is always someone doing it better, having a greater impact. I'm not always right and I do not know it all. I read books about money, relationships, business. Someone has gone through it and wrote about it so you don't have to. My mom would always say "if you don't know no better, you can't do no better". I believe that. Learn a lesson or two so you can pass it on through your experience to someone else for their learning.
When I woke up to do my taxes, there it was.....$104,927.79....and I didn't have to work myself crazy to get it. My relationships with my friends and family are stronger that ever. Me and my love will be celebrating three years together this Easter and I couldn't be happier. I've met so many wonderful, fun, loving people and I'm completely happy with my life and excited about the future.
Cheers to you and all of your financial successes you give birth to by bringing back the balance.
Journal it out.....
